December 11, 2025 – Meixin successfully provided a water jet reel turn-up system and wet end water jet tail cutter for the PM7 large paper machine owned by China Tuofan Automation Equipment Co., Ltd. The paper machine has a paper width of 6700mm and operates at a speed of up to 1,300 meters per minute. The two systems supplied by Meixin for this project have comprehensively improved the paper machine's reel change efficiency, tail threading stability, and production safety.

1. Water Jet Reel Turn-up system

Meixin's high-pressure water jet reel turn-up system has its beam installed above the reel. An ultra-high-pressure water generation system produces high-pressure water, which is ejected as high-quality cutting water jets through ultra-high-pressure nozzles. The reel change beam is equipped with 2 sets of cutting water jet heads. The water jets move at high speed to cut a paper tip while spraying an appropriate amount of adhesive, causing the paper tip to quickly adhere to the new reel spool, widening the full paper width and achieving high-quality reel change.

2. Wet End Water Jet Tail Cutter

Meixin's wet end automatic tail threading water jet features stable and reliable tail strip cutting and full-width sheet spreading. The system is equipped with one nozzle that produces a high-quality water jet to cut the paper web into a tail strip. When full-width spreading is required, a high-precision moving carriage carrying the cutting nozzle moves to the outside of the paper web on the drive side of the paper machine, completing tail threading and sheet spreading.

Wet End Water Jet Tail Cutter

Under high-speed operation at 1,300 m/min, the stability and safety of wet end tail threading are particularly critical. Meixin's wet end water jet tail、 cutter replaces traditional mechanical cutting with a high-pressure water jet. Combined with a high-precision moving carriage and intelligent control system, it maximizes tail threading success rate and reduces operational risks and broke accumulation.

The water jet reel turn-up and wet end water jet tail cutter systems provided by Meixin for the China Tuofan PM7 large paper machine cover key processes. The water jet reel turn-up system achieves a reel change success rate close to 100%, while the wet end water jet tail cutter system greatly improves the level of tail threading automation and operational stability.
