May 25, 2022- Meixin successfully commissioned multiple key automation systems for the medium-to-large paper machine operated by China Baiyun Paper Mill. These systems include dryer fabric cleaner, water jet reel turn up system, ropeless tail threading, and water jet tail cutter for wet end. The project has been put into smooth operation, significantly improving the paper machine's operational efficiency, paper quality, and production safety.

The paper machine involved in this retrofit is a 4650mm model, with a paper width of 4650mm, an operating speed of 900 m/min, and primarily produces high-strength corrugating medium with a basis weight of 80–150 g/m². In response to the machine's characteristics of wide width, high speed, and high basis weight, Meixin provided a mature and reliable integrated solution.

1. Dryer Fabric Cleaner

Function:
Meixin's PF·Clean intelligent online dryer fabric cleaner is equipped with high-efficiency cleaning heads. The cleaning head is positioned in the wrap angle area between the dryer fabric and the guide roll, maintaining a certain gap from the fabric. High-pressure water nozzles inside the cleaning head spray at a specific angle onto the fabric surface, loosening and dislodging adhesive contaminants. Front and rear air knives blow air to assist in lifting the contaminants further. Under the action of a vacuum extraction system, the contaminants are discharged out of the paper machine. An external air knife then thoroughly removes residual moisture after cleaning.

2. Water Jet Reel Turn Up System

Function:
The beam of Meixin's high-pressure water jet reel turn up system is installed at the upper part of the winder. The ultra-high-pressure water generation system produces high-pressure water, which is delivered through ultra-high-pressure nozzles to form high-quality cutting water jets. The transfer beam is equipped with two sets of cutting water jet heads. The water jets move at high speed to cut a paper tail tip, while simultaneously spraying an appropriate amount of adhesive onto the tip. When the paper tip contacts the new reel spool, it instantly adheres and widens to the full paper width, completing a high-quality transfer process.

3. Ropeless Tail Threading

Function:
Meixin's ropeless tail threading system shortens threading time and increases threading speed. It is a fast, efficient, fully automatic tail threading system that significantly improves threading efficiency.

4. Water Jet Tail Cutter for Wet End

Function:
Meixin's water jet tail cutter for wet end provides reliable cutting of the tail thread and full-width sheet spreading. The system is equipped with a single nozzle that produces a high-quality water jet for cutting the paper web to form a tail. When full-width sheet spreading is required, a high-precision movable carriage carrying the cutting nozzle moves to the outside of the paper web on the drive side, completing the threading and widening process.
