May 25, 2024-Meixin successfully provided dry end tail cutter for a medium-sized specialty paper machine owned by China Xintian Paper Mill. The paper machine has a paper width of 4860mm and operates at a speed of 500 meters per minute, primarily producing specialty paper of 25-70 g/m². The dry end tail cutter supplied by Meixin for this project has effectively improved the paper machine's tail threading efficiency, operational stability, and production safety.
The 4860mm wide paper machine served by Meixin is one of the company's main production lines, primarily producing specialty paper of 25-70 g/m². Specialty paper production demands extremely high uniformity and surface cleanliness of the paper web. Combined with the machine speed of 500 m/min, this places exceptionally stringent requirements on the stability and reliability of the tail threading system during web transfer through the dryer section.
1.Dry End Tail Cutter
In high-speed papermaking production, dry end tail cutter is one of the most critical operations in paper machine operation. Especially in specialty paper production, any tail threading failure can lead to a full web break, resulting in prolonged downtime losses and severely affecting production efficiency.
Meixin's dry end tail cutter combines two core functions: cutting a tail strip and full sheet spreading. The system is equipped with an imported high-speed air motor that drives a dedicated cutting blade. The high-speed rotating blade cuts the paper web to form a tail strip. When full sheet spreading is required, a high-precision moving carriage carrying the rotating blade moves to the outside of the paper web on the drive side of the paper machine to complete the tail threading and sheet spreading.
